As you know, Good Friday is the day when Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. This is an important event in Christianity as it represents the sacrifices and suffering in Jesus’ life.
Sometimes, churches organize a prayer vigil as a time to meditate and spend some time in quiet prayer. Some devotional materials are also displayed. We need people to sign up to come to the church and pray for at least a half hour. A sign-up sheet is posted in the back of the church. If you are not available during those hours, we hope you will set aside some time at home to be in prayer on that day. Also, you may want to read the following scriptures, which give us a vision of that mournful, yet powerful day: Matthew 27:31-65, Mark 15:22-47, Luke 23:26-55, John 19:16-42.
It is humbling to think of the sacrifice made for us!
