Postponed: Making Pysanky (Ukrainian) Egg Class

March 15, 2020 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Updated 3/13/20

Given the current continuing public health concerns around COVID-19, it was decided at Thursday’s emergency church meeting that all activities, including worship, at Rotterdam United Methodist Church will be suspended until Thursday, April 2, 2020. On that Thursday, we will meet again and re-evaluate the rapidly changing situation. Our intention is to reschedule all events impacted by this decision.

Pysanky Easter eggs are hand-drawn creations that are designed using beeswax to create the lines and dyed in layers to create these vibrant patterns. One of the best moments of the class comes at the end when the wax is removed and the pattern of the egg is revealed.

There are two ways to experience this wonderful class. The first is a four-week course that will allow you to increase your knowledge and work on increasingly challenging designs. The second is a one day course that will introduce you to this amazing art form and lay the groundwork for you to continue at home.

The class costs $25 per student and includes all of the class materials as well as your own pysanka starter kit. Typically each student leaves each class with a completed egg. Please use the link in the tickets section below to register. (

Please note that we can only accept 20 people into the Thursday evening class. Registration will be confirmed once payment has been received. After you have completed this form you will receive an email with information on how to submit payment.
